Set during the Joseon Dynasty, the story follows Lee Yul, a perfectionist Crown Prince who suffers from temporary amnesia after a near-fatal assassination attempt. While wandering in a state of confusion, he is found by the father of Hong-shim, the head of the village's first detective agency. Due to a royal decree issued by Yul himself before his accident—mandating that all citizens must marry before a certain age—Hong-shim is forced into a marriage with the amnesiac prince, who is now known as the bumbling commoner Won-deuk. As the two navigate their unexpected life together in the countryside, they develop a deep, genuine affection for one another. However, the political machinations of the royal court continue to loom, as powerful ministers seek to keep the Prince missing or dead to maintain their grip on power. The series masterfully blends lighthearted romantic comedy with intense political intrigue as Yul struggles to regain his memories and return to his rightful place while protecting the woman he has come to love.
