Set in Edo-period Japan, the series follows Mizu, a mixed-race master swordsman who lives a life of disguise while seeking bloody revenge against the four white men who were illegally in the country during Japan's self-imposed isolation, one of whom is her biological father. Along her treacherous path of vengeance, Mizu encounters unlikely allies, faces deadly assassins, and confronts the painful truth of her identity.
