Dearest is a suspenseful Japanese drama that centers on Rio Sanada, a successful CEO of a pharmaceutical company who becomes a person of interest in a murder investigation. The story unfolds across two timelines: the present day, where a body is discovered linked to a cold case from fifteen years ago, and the past, where a tragic incident in a quiet village changed the lives of Rio and those around her forever. As the investigation intensifies, Rio is reunited with Ki-ya Miyazaki, her first love and a detective now tasked with solving the case. The series masterfully weaves together themes of sacrifice, ambition, and the lengths one will go to protect the people they hold most dear. Each episode peels back layers of deception, forcing the characters to confront the consequences of their past actions and the heavy price of their secrets.
