Galavant is a musical fantasy comedy series that follows the epic misadventures of the dashing hero Gary Galavant. Once a celebrated knight renowned for his bravery and romance, Galavant falls into a deep depression and loses his edge after his beloved true love, Madalena, is kidnapped and subsequently chooses to marry the vain and tyrannical King Richard for wealth and power. Years later, a fierce and ambitious princess named Isabella Maria Lucia Elizabetta of Valencia enters Galavant's life with a proposition: she will help him reclaim his honor and rescue Madalena if he helps her save her own kingdom from the very same King Richard. Joined by Galavant's loyal squire, Sid, the unlikely trio embarks on a self-aware, fourth-wall-breaking quest filled with catchy original songs composed by Alan Menken and Glenn Slater, clever medieval satire, and unexpected character development.
