Ten years after witnessing the brutal murder of his father, Park Soo-ha has grown into a high school student with a unique supernatural ability: he can read other people's minds just by looking into their eyes. The murderer, Min Joon-gook, was convicted solely because a courageous young high school girl named Jang Hye-sung stepped forward to testify, despite terrifying death threats. Soo-ha made a silent vow to protect her from that day forward, never forgetting her bravery. In the present day, Jang Hye-sung is a pragmatic, jaded, and unenthusiastic public defender who prioritizes a steady paycheck over moral righteousness. Her mundane professional life is upended when Soo-ha tracks her down, determined to shield her as Min Joon-gook is released from prison, consumed by a burning desire for revenge against the witnesses who put him behind bars. Forming an unlikely partnership, Hye-sung, Soo-ha, and earnest fellow public defender Cha Gwan-woo team up to defend seemingly hopeless clients in courtroom battles using Soo-ha's telepathic insight. Along the way, Hye-sung rediscovers her passion for justice and learns to stand tall against the vengeful shadow from her past.
