Natsuzora follows the life of Natsu Okuhara, a young girl who loses her parents during the chaos of World War II. She is taken in by her father's comrade, Takeo Shibata, and raised on a dairy farm in the Tokachi region of Hokkaido. Amidst the harsh but beautiful nature of the north, Natsu grows into a resilient woman, finding solace and inspiration in the burgeoning world of Japanese animation. As she matures, Natsu moves to Tokyo to pursue her dream of becoming an animator. The series chronicles her professional struggles and triumphs in the male-dominated animation industry of the 1950s and 60s, while exploring the deep, enduring bonds she maintains with her adoptive family in Hokkaido. It is a poignant tribute to the pioneers of anime and the strength of the human spirit.
