Series Overview

Set during the early Meiji era in Japan, the story follows Himura Kenshin, a legendary former assassin known as 'Hitokiri Battosai.' Haunted by the lives he took during the revolution, Kenshin vows to never kill again, wielding a reverse-blade sword to protect those in need. He wanders the country as a rurouni, eventually finding a home at a small dojo in Tokyo. As he attempts to leave his bloody past behind, Kenshin is repeatedly drawn into conflicts involving old enemies, political conspiracies, and new threats to the fragile peace of the Meiji government. Alongside his companions—Kaoru Kamiya, Sanosuke Sagara, and Yahiko Myojin—Kenshin must confront his inner demons and the legacy of his past to define what it truly means to live for the future.
