Santos Dumont is a biographical drama series that chronicles the life of Alberto Santos-Dumont, the Brazilian aviation pioneer who became a celebrity in early 20th-century Paris. The series explores his relentless pursuit of human flight, moving from his childhood on a coffee plantation in Brazil to his groundbreaking experiments with dirigibles and the development of the 14-bis, the first aircraft to take off under its own power. Beyond his technical achievements, the narrative delves into the complex personality of the 'Father of Aviation,' highlighting his struggles with fame, his deep-seated idealism, and the eventual disillusionment he faced as he witnessed his inventions being repurposed for the horrors of aerial warfare during World War I. It is a poignant look at a visionary whose dreams of connecting the world through flight were overshadowed by the darker realities of human conflict.
