Shannon's Deal follows the life of Jack Shannon, a brilliant but disgraced former high-profile attorney who lost his career and his marriage due to a severe gambling addiction. Now living in Philadelphia, he works as a solo practitioner taking on low-rent cases that other lawyers ignore. He struggles to rebuild his reputation and his life while constantly battling the temptation to return to the high-stakes world of gambling that ruined him. Throughout the series, Shannon navigates the gritty legal landscape of the city, often defending clients who are down on their luck or marginalized by the system. His unorthodox methods and deep empathy for his clients often put him at odds with the establishment, while his personal life remains a precarious balancing act as he tries to maintain sobriety and reconnect with his estranged family.
