The World That They Live In follows the professional and personal lives of television drama production staff. The story centers on Jung Ji-oh and Joo Joon-young, two talented but contrasting directors who navigate the high-pressure environment of the broadcast industry. As they work together to produce hit dramas, they must balance their artistic ambitions with the grueling demands of network executives, temperamental actors, and tight production schedules. Beyond the studio lights, the series explores the complexities of their romantic relationship, which is tested by past traumas, differing family backgrounds, and the emotional toll of their careers. The drama is celebrated for its realistic portrayal of the industry, moving away from typical melodrama tropes to focus on the nuanced, everyday struggles of people trying to find love and purpose while working in a fast-paced, often unforgiving creative field.
