Set in the spring of 1986, the fourth season of Stranger Things finds the teenage heroes separated for the first time: Eleven is struggling to fit in at high school in California after losing her powers, while Mike, Dustin, Lucas, and Max remain in Hawkins. Meanwhile, a terrifying new entity emerges from the Upside Down—Vecna, a sadistic humanoid monster targeting troubled teenagers in Hawkins by exploiting their deepest traumas and guilt. As the mystery unfolds, disparate storylines take characters across the globe: Joyce Byers and Murray Bauman embark on a dangerous rescue mission to Kamchatka, Russia, to save Jim Hopper from a Siberian gulag, while Jonathan, Will, Mike, and newcomer Argyle race across the American West to find Eleven. Concurrently, Dr. Martin Brenner and Dr. Sam Owens work in a secret Nevada facility to help Eleven unlock suppressed memories and regain her lost abilities in time to stop the impending apocalypse.
